We brought transparency in nepotism: PDP

Srinagar: The J&K government led by Peoples Democratic Party today said it has brought transparency in corruption and nepotism (in recruitment).

The vice chairman of state’s Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Peerzada Mansoor Hussain told media that recruitments have always been backdoor in all departments, however, his government brought them to the front door.

“Today you see in every employment selection list kins of ministers and party leaders are figuring. Everybody has access to these lists,” Hussain said. “Isn’t this what we call transparency and which was not there before.”

Hussain said the government was making recruitment of kin of politicians under a special category of Meritoriously Challenged Politically-abled candidates.

“Our children have a right to jobs,” Hussain said. “If we cannot accommodate our kin in our government, then when are they going to get a chance. Should Sartaj Sahib hang his son in Lal Chowk.”

Defending any foul play in KVIB recruitments Hussain said the government has tried its best to follow the legacy set by “our predecessors”.

The PDP leader added there was no need for any government probe into the recent appointments as everything was “crystal clear”.

“Everybody knows who made appointments, what is there to unravel. The process was carried in a transparent manner to accommodate meritoriously challenged politically- abled candidates.” Hussain said.
