New Delhi: The prevalence of COVID-19 cases in Kashmir along with other states has proved the region has been fully integrated with the Union of India after the abrogation of Article 370, Home Minister Amit Shah said today.

“What better proof should we present to the countrymen of the success of abrogation of Article 370 in ensuring complete integration of integration J&K with India,” Shah said.

“At a time when the country is facing the onslaught of coronavirus, J&K is like any other state properly contributing in cases and deaths related to COVID-19. Right now there is no special treatment reserved for J&K.”

Shah said his government under the leadership of Narendra Modi has even successfully managed to even extend the lockdown (until now reserved for Kashmiris) to rest of India.

“Today no state can claim that J&K enjoys preferential or special treatment. Whatever special status they used to enjoy until now is being made readily made available for people in other states to taste,” Shah said. “In 70 years of Congress rule, I have never seen such an integration of J&K with the country.”

Shah said during Congress party’s rule only people in J&K used to relax during the lockdown.

“J&K was always talked of as remote, separate land as if it was a foreign country under lockdown, with its people enjoying inside. But we have brought that pleasure to the people in other states.”
